Breaking News: OBEF Announces Venue Change and New Tag for 2025 Event After Meeting with Andoni LGA Chairman

The Obolo Entertainers Forum (OBEF) Worldwide has officially announced a major adjustment to its upcoming event, previously tagged “Proudly Obolo in PH/Obolo Legendary Award Night 2025.”

In a statement issued on Monday, the Forum apologized to the public and its sponsors for the sudden change in both venue and event tag, citing new directives following a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Andoni Local Government Council, Hon. Prince Lucky Promise Otuo.

According to OBEF, the Chairman emphasized that events rooted in Obolo heritage and driven by Obolo stakeholders should be hosted within Andoni jurisdiction, aligning with his administration’s commitment to promoting Andoni–Obolo culture, entertainment, and development.

He appealed to the Forum to move the event from Port Harcourt to Ngo Town, the Andoni LGA headquarters, and to adopt a name that better reflects the identity and global projection of Obolo Nation.

Following the meeting and a subsequent congress held on Sunday, November 16, OBEF unanimously accepted the Chairman’s directive. The event has now been rebranded and will hold under a new tag:

Obolo To The World (Maiden Edition) Legendary Award Night 2025.”

The date remains unchanged — Saturday, November 29, 2025 — with the red carpet scheduled for 4:30 PM and the main event commencing at 7:00 PM in Ngo, Andoni Local Government Area.

In recognition of the inconvenience caused, OBEF tendered an unreserved apology to its sponsors and supporters. The Forum also announced that arrangements will be made for coaster buses to transport attendees from Port Harcourt to Ngo and back, alongside accommodation for selected guests.

OBEF noted that while it may still appeal in the future for the Port Harcourt edition of the initial concept “Proudly Obolo in PH,” it will, for now, stand firmly with the directive of the Andoni Council Chairman.

The statement concluded with reaffirmation of the Forum’s commitment to promoting Obolo culture, talent, and heritage.
