Date: November 1, 2025
In an exclusive interview with Bigchiefvibes Media, fast-rising Andoni musician Famous Swanky opens up about his journey, the struggles facing local entertainers, and his passionate appeal to the government, private sponsors, and well-meaning individuals to invest in Andoni’s creative future.
In continuation of our focus on rising entertainers across Andoni, Bigchiefvibes Media spoke with Geoffrey Ellis, popularly known by his stage name Famous Swanky, a talented musician from Unyeada Town, Andoni LGA, Rivers State.
According to Swanky, his passion for music began from childhood, inspired by his late father — a lover of music and dance.
“The passion I had for music right from my childhood made me fall deeply in love with it. My dad was a music lover, and I enjoyed every moment watching him sing and dance to different tunes. I think I took the musical and entertaining part of his life,” he said.
When asked about the challenges entertainers face in Andoni, Swanky highlighted lack of support and funding as the biggest obstacles.
“The major challenges we face as upcoming entertainers in Andoni LGA are lack of support from the government, from the youths, and mainly, lack of finance,” he noted.
He added that if there had been consistent government involvement and private sponsorship, the Andoni entertainment industry would have grown faster and reached a wider audience.
Swanky also commended Bigchiefvibes Media for giving a voice to entertainers in the area.
"Bigchiefvibes Media is one of the biggest platforms right now in Andoni and even Nigeria. I believe with its help and visibility, the government, NGOs, private individuals, and music industries will begin to give listening ears to us — the entertainers in Andoni,” he said.
In his message to fellow youths and entertainers, he encouraged resilience and unity:
“My advice to every youth trying to make a name in entertainment despite the challenges is simple — don’t give up. Forward ever, backward never.”
He ended with a call for collective support:
“Let’s keep supporting and turning up for upcoming entertainers — by attending our shows, sharing our songs, and showing love. And to the government, we need sponsorship and empowerment. Thank you, I still remain your one and only Famous Swanky.”
