Entertainment publicist Dave of Africa has taken to social media to express disappointment over what he described as “a lack of appreciation” from former Big Brother Naija housemate Mensah Official toward supporters from Port Harcourt and Rivers State.
According to Dave, despite the massive online and offline support Mensah received from Rivers indigenes during and after his time on the show, the reality star has yet to acknowledge or appreciate his fans from the region.
In his post, Dave drew comparisons with fellow contestant Kola, who returned home to thank his people publicly — a gesture that earned him widespread respect.
> “When Hilda Dokubo supported Kola, people insulted her because they said he wasn’t from Rivers State. But Kola came back and showed gratitude. That’s what makes the difference — appreciation,” Dave said.
He emphasized that gratitude remains one of the most valuable traits any celebrity can show, especially to the community that first believed in them.
> “A simple ‘thank you, my people’ doesn’t cost anything. It shows humility and earns you love that money can’t buy,” he added.
Dave’s post has since sparked conversations among entertainment fans and Rivers indigenes, many of whom share his view that homegrown stars should never forget the communities that stood by them when the spotlight first shone their way.
