Gunmen Attack Andoni Communities as Fresh Shootings Claim Multiple Lives

Residents of parts of Andoni Local Government Area, Rivers State, were thrown into fear and confusion on Monday following reports of fresh shootings by suspected gunmen, which reportedly claimed the lives of over three persons.

According to community sources, the attacks occurred in Unyengala, Oyorokoto, Agana, Illotombi, and other affected areas of Andoni LGA. Witnesses said sporadic gunshots were heard in different locations, forcing many residents to flee their homes in search of safety.

Although official casualty figures are yet to be confirmed by security agencies, locals described the situation as tense, with fear spreading rapidly across the communities as insecurity continues to pose serious concerns in the area.

The shooting incidents reported today are coming weeks after a previous violent confrontation in Inyongorong Community, where clashes between some unidentified persons and security operatives reportedly led to loss of properties,some persons Injured  and destruction of buildings (burnt down buildings), further heightening anxiety among residents of Andoni.
