 December 4, 2025

The Rivers State Police Command has successfully rescued five kidnapped residents in a coordinated overnight operation in Emuoha Local Government Area.

In a statement released on Thursday, December 4, 2025, the Command’s spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, said the rescue mission took place around 1:00 a.m., following a rapid deployment of tactical units in collaboration with sister security agencies and community volunteers.

The victims — Prince London, Azubuike Kelechukwu, Elizabeth Aniete, Onyebuchi Precious, and London Sampson — were reportedly abducted from isolated homes earlier in the week by yet-to-be-identified cultists.

According to the police, all rescued victims have been taken to the hospital for medical evaluations and are receiving proper care.

Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, assured the public that the Command is intensifying efforts to track down the fleeing suspects. He called on residents to continue providing timely and useful information to aid ongoing security operations.

«“Rivers people should remain calm and continue their daily activities without fear. The safety of every resident remains our top priority,” he stated.»
