Ngo, Andoni LGA — Tuesday, 8th December 2025
The Rivers State Government has officially unveiled the Rivers Beach Festival & Tourism project at the expansive Ngo shoreline in Andoni Local Government Area, marking a major step in its new Blue Economy agenda set to fully commence on January 2nd, 2026. The unveiling ceremony, which drew dignitaries, community leaders, government officials, and residents, showcased the state’s commitment to transforming its coastal wealth into tourism, investment, and economic prosperity.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Dr. Gogo-Ogute Isaiah, a member of the committee headed by Engr. Kingston Sylvanus, emphasized the strategic importance of the Ngo coastline and its vast investment potential.
> “We are here at the Andoni shore coastline in Ngo, the headquarters of Andoni LGA, to open this coastal line for both local and foreign tourist investors. This coastline stretches over 800 kilometers and is the largest in Nigeria. Under the directive of His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, we are officially unveiling the logo of the Rivers Beach Festival and Tourism,” he stated.
Dr. Isaiah further highlighted that the Ngo coastline surpasses popular coastal attractions across the country in scale and natural endowment.
> “This beach is more than the Lagos beach. I invite Nigerians, U.S. investors, the Chinese, and others—there are abundant untapped resources here. You can drive easily to this place. We even have wild animals like elephants walking freely along the coastal line. Investors can develop zoos and other tourism ventures. Andoni is peaceful and safe,” he added.
