Inyoungchicha Water Project Stalls as Residents Appeal to Andoni Council

 

Residents of Inyoungchicha Community in Andoni Local Government Area have expressed growing concern over the prolonged halt of the community water project initiated by the administration of Hon. Prince Promise Lucky Otuo.

In an online interaction with Bigchiefvibes Media, a concerned member of the Inyoungchicha community, who requested anonymity, lamented that the water project, which began months ago, has remained abandoned with no visible progress.

“I am worried and afraid that this project might end up abandoned,” the resident said. “I am appealing to the Andoni Local Government Council to return to site and complete this project to fulfil the promise made to the people of Inyoungchicha.”

The source emphasized the importance of the project, explaining that the community has suffered for a long time from lack of access to clean and safe drinking water. He called on the appropriate authorities to urgently intervene and ensure the completion of the project for the benefit of the people.

Recall that on October 25, 2025, Bigchiefvibes Media reported the issue of unsafe drinking water in Inyoungchicha Community. Following that report, the Andoni LGA Council promised to provide the community with potable water. On November 3, 2025, the council commenced work on the water project.

However, work on the project appears to have stopped over the past two to three months, as no workers have been seen on site as of the time of this report.

As of January 24, 2026, residents of Inyoungchicha Community are once again appealing to the Executive Chairman of Andoni LGA, Hon. Prince Promise Lucky Otuo, to urgently resume and complete the water project to alleviate the community’s long-standing water challenges.
