“I Vowed to Be Giving 30 Percent of My Earnings” — “Our Communities Are Badly Underdeveloped and Our People Are Living in Abject Poverty” — Hon. Dr. Igbanam Silas Eneyo
Sunday, 15 February 2026
Bigchiefvibes Media, alongside MC Bazlytle, paid a courtesy visit to Igbanam Silas Eneyo, philanthropist and former House of Representatives aspirant, in Port Harcourt.
The visit came shortly after his birthday celebration, and the conversation centered on service, leadership, and community development.
Speaking during the interview, Hon. Eneyo expressed deep concern about the state of his people:
“Despite the enormous resources and amenities we have, our people still lack basic amenities. Our communities are badly underdeveloped, and our people are living in abject poverty. I want to see a better society, not because I have much, but because everybody deserves better.”
When asked what lessons he learned from contesting the last election, he explained that the experience opened his eyes to the real needs of the people.
“It helped me a whole lot. I was able to tour Opobo/Nkoro and Andoni, and I saw the level of underdevelopment with my own eyes. It showed me that those who truly want development must work hard for it. As a people, when you determine to make change, change will come.” He said.
On why he continues to serve despite not winning the election, he stated clearly:
“The only reason I contested was to serve the people. Whether in office or not, I will keep serving. I made a vow to Andoni that 30 percent of my earnings will go to my people. Even after losing the election, I am still keeping that vow.”
He went forther to address the youths and encourage them to be perseverance and self-belief.
In his words.
“Keep your dreams alive and don’t give up. Nobody is more Andoni than you and I. If your vision is honest, it will come to pass. Don’t let anyone determine your destiny.”
Reflecting on his new age, he smiled and expressed gratitude:
“I am grateful for life, family, friends, and my community. I will continue to serve with all my heart whenever I have the opportunity. I will keep pushing to ensure Andoni and its communities are developed and better equipped for the future.”
During the visit, Geoffrey Ekpu Ekpu, the voice behind Bigchiefvibes Media, and Ndedeng Okpojo (MC Bazlytle) presented him with a birthday gift as a mark of appreciation and encouragement.
Bigchiefvibes Media and mc Bazlytle sincerely thanks Hon. Dr. Igbanam Silas Eneyo for his time and continued commitment to the people.
