At the Ecumenical Centre, Port Harcourt, during a Service of Songs held in honour of the late His Eminence King (Dr.) Israel Uzamaden Otuo IX, JP, Hon. Chief Barr. Erastus Charles Awortu has called on the chiefs and people of Unyeada Kingdom to be deliberate and responsible in the selection of a new monarch.

Hon. Awortu described the late king as a peaceful ruler and a true symbol of unity, noting that his successor must reflect the same values and sustain the legacy he left behind.

He emphasized that the choice of a new king should be guided by wisdom, stressing the need for a leader who can represent the people effectively, listen to their concerns, and promote unity across all communities in Unyeada Kingdom.

According to him, it is important for the people to set aside differences and ensure that the next king embodies the values of peace, understanding, and strong leadership demonstrated by the late monarch.
